SmartTrader Charting Tools: Instrument and Timeframe

Symbol

The Symbol is an abbreviation used to represent the exchange being traded.

Example: USDJPY is the symbol for the US Dollars exchange rate for the Japanese Yen.

How to Change a charts Symbol.

Step 1

Select Symbol Field located in the top left of SmartTrader Chars.

Step 2

Start entering a symbol to set the chart to. 

  • The symbol list will auto-populate a list of symbols including the typed text.



 

 

OR

When you open your SmartTrader charts and click in the instruments menu search box, you will have the ability to preview all available currency pairs without having to type in the box.
When you click in the menu search box, you will be able to preview a list of all available instruments offered by type.

The instruments will be grouped by the following types:

  • Stock Tab: Displays top 30 weighted stocks in NASDAQ
  • Crypto Tab: Displays suggested cryptocurrencies instruments
  • Forex Tab: Displays most active Forex pairs
  • All Tab: Displays a combination of other instruments listed

Step 3

Select symbol to change the chart to. 
The chart will now update to the selected or entered symbol.

 

Time Frame

The Time frame defines the length of time used to build the charts detail. 
Example: a 1-hour chart with the candle price style will build candles that include the changes in price for 1 hour. So every hour will be a new candle. 

How to Change Time Frames

Step 1

Select Time Frame drop-down menu in the top left of SmartTrader Charts.

Step 2

Select the time frame from list.

SmartTrader offers 14 different time frame options:

  • 1 Minute
  • 5 Minutes
  • 10 Minutes
  • 15 Minutes
  • 30 Minutes
  • 1 Hour
  • 2 Hours
  • 3 Hours
  • 4 Hours
  • 8 Hours
  • 1 Day
  • 1 Week
  • 1 Month
  • 1 Year

After selecting the new time frame your selected chart will change to the selected time frame.
